How to analyze braking telemetry
Compare braking points, pressure and release speed to understand where a driver gains time entering a corner. A later brake point is not always faster: a smooth release can preserve tire grip and improve the exit.

Use the speed trace to separate corner exit performance from straight-line speed. The fastest peak usually comes from a strong exit, low drag and the right gear selection rather than one isolated throttle input.
Sector times and lap gaps show where the race is changing. A growing gap in one sector can reveal tire wear, traffic or a setup weakness before it becomes obvious in the overall timing order.
F1 Telemetry is an independent fan project created to make Formula 1 data easier to explore.
We build real-time dashboards, circuit visualizations and analysis tools using publicly available timing and telemetry data. The project is not affiliated with Formula 1, the FIA or their partners.
F1 Telemetry uses essential technical data to provide the website and may use analytics and advertising services to understand usage and support operating costs.
